Dog food is less expensive than snacks and cup-noodles |

Have you ever thought of the reason why the dog food that your pet dogs eat every day is less expensive than the snacks for us? In addition, at the end market the dog food is twenty per cent higher in its profit rate than that of the food for human beings. It is thus easily realized that the raw material for the dog food is extremely inexpensive. In a recent American newspaper there was an article that says,"If a can of water costs 21 cents to be produced, then what do you expect to be contained in a can of dog food being sold at the same price?" Why can they make a healthy, nutricious and safe dog food at such a low cost? Is it truly the best everyday food for our dogs?
I have made my own research and found out various facts that I describe in the following. First of all, the amount of meat required to produce one kilogram of dried food is 1.2 kilograms. Please note that meat after being dried decreases its weight by 2/3. So 1.2 kilograms of meat yields 400 grams of dried meat, which will be contained in one kilogram of dried food. On the other hand, a premium dog food sold at 1000 yen per kilogram ($4 per pound) is made from materials of 150 yen per kilogram ($0.7 per pound). We have to think carefully at this point if it is really possible to collect all the necessary materials of various nutrition, including 1.2 kilograms of beef, mouton , chicken an d etc., for only 150 yen ($1.2) per kilogram. If it is, then what kind of materials are they? Is it the right food to take every day for the healthy life? Even though it has enough calory and nutrition in its values, it cannot be an everyday food unless it is highly harmonized with biological lives. I wouldn't buy a meat sold for 10 yen per 100 grams (40 cents per pound) for my family and myself. |
